Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Budget Track AI (the “App”), provided by AppCraft Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your information. Budget Track AI is a personal finance management app that helps you track income, expenses, wallets, savings goals, and budgets, with optional AI-powered insights.
By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who We Are
The App is operated by AppCraft Studio. For any privacy-related request you can contact us at the email address in the “Contact Us” section below.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account or sign in with Email/Password, Google, or Apple, we receive your email address and, where available, your display name and profile photo. Passwords are handled by the authentication provider (Firebase Authentication) and are never stored by us.
- Financial data you enter. Transactions (amount, category, wallet, optional note, date, currency), wallets, categories, savings goals, and recurring entries. This data is stored locally on your device (see Section 5) and is not uploaded to our servers, except when you choose to back it up (Section 4).
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Purchase and subscription data. When you buy a subscription, Google Play Billing provides a purchase token, order ID, and product ID, which we verify on our backend to manage your subscription status.
- Push notification token. A Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver notifications (e.g. when an AI report is ready or your subscription status changes).
- Preferred language. Saved to keep your experience and AI content in your chosen language.
- Diagnostics and usage analytics. We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect aggregated usage events and crash diagnostics (such as device model, operating system version, and app version) to keep the App stable and improve it. We do not use third-party analytics other than Firebase.
- Advertising identifier (free tier only). If you use the free version, Google AdMob may use your device’s advertising identifier to display ads. Premium subscribers do not see ads.
2.3 Optional features that access additional data
- Cloud backup (optional). If you enable backup, a copy of your App data is uploaded to your own Google Drive account under your control. We do not receive or store these backups on our servers.
- AI features (premium, optional). When you use AI reports or the AI chat assistant, a financial context (such as balances, category totals, and recent transactions) is sent through our backend to an AI provider to generate the response (see Section 6).
- Payment-notification auto-detect (Android, opt-in). If you explicitly enable this feature and grant notification access, the App reads incoming payment notifications (e.g. from wallet or banking apps) on your device only to suggest an expense amount. The notification content is processed locally on your device, is never stored, and never leaves your device. You can disable it at any time in Settings or in your device’s notification-access settings.
We do not knowingly collect more data than described here, and we do not collect data from children (see Section 10).
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the information above to:
- Provide core App functionality (record and display your finances);
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- Process and verify subscriptions and provide premium features;
- Generate AI reports and chat responses (premium);
- Send you relevant notifications;
- Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse;
- Diagnose crashes and improve the App;
- Show ads to free-tier users;
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR/EEA)
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data on the following bases: performance of our contract with you (providing the App and subscriptions), your consent (e.g. optional cloud backup, AI features, payment-notification access, ads personalization where required), our legitimate interests (security, diagnostics, improvement), and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Data Storage and Retention
- On-device first. Your financial records are stored locally on your device using an on-device database. They remain on your device unless you back them up or delete the App.
- Cloud data. Account profile, subscription status, preferred language, and notification token are stored using Google Firebase. Backups, if enabled, are stored in your own Google Drive.
- Retention. We retain account and subscription data while your account is active. AI context sent to providers is used only to generate the response and is not used to build a profile of you. When you delete your account, your cloud data is erased (see Section 8).
6. AI Features and Third-Party AI Providers
AI reports and AI chat are optional premium features. When used, the App sends a limited financial context through our secure backend to an AI provider — Google Gemini or OpenAI — to generate the report or answer. We send only the data needed to produce the result, transmitted over encrypted connections. We do not sell this data, and it is not used to train models for advertising to you.
7. How We Share Data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the App, and only as needed:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics) | Account, subscription verification, notifications, diagnostics |
| Google Play Billing | Processing and verifying subscription purchases |
| Google AdMob (free tier only) | Displaying ads |
| Google Gemini / OpenAI | Generating AI reports and chat responses (premium) |
| Google Drive | Storing your backups in your own account (optional) |
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
8. Your Rights and Data Deletion
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent at any time.
- Export. You can export your data from the App (Settings → Data).
- Delete your account and data. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the App (Settings → Delete account). This erases your local data and your cloud data (account profile, subscription records, and related records) from our systems.
- Requests by email. You can also exercise your rights, or request deletion, by contacting us at the email in Section 12.
Note: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play to avoid future charges.
9. Security
We protect your data with measures including: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all network traffic, server-side verification of subscriptions, security rules that scope cloud data to your account, and optional app-lock with a PIN (stored using your device’s secure storage) and biometric unlock. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International Data Transfers
Our service providers (such as Google) may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards.
